Robert Alonso

Robert started his career at Franklin Templeton where he led a team of fund accountants in the Mutual Fund Accounting group, and later joined Kaufman Rossin in 2003. At Kaufman Rossin, Robert became an integral member of the team which organized an independent fund administration company in 2005. He led the hedge fund accounting team of 135 staff in 7 different cities in the US and abroad. Robert also formalized a private equity accounting team and service offering, which he continued to lead after the fund administration company was sold to a publicly traded company in 2016 and later acquired by another publicly traded company in 2018.

With his hedge fund and private equity clients, and then in privately held and publicly owned companies, Robert garnered extensive insight into the industry. He has worked with a wide range of clients, from those launching their first fund to large institutional clients and family offices. He has experience with a vast array of fund and investment vehicle structures, onshore and offshore domiciles, and multiple US tax specific structures. He also has a comprehensive understanding of complex private equity waterfalls in both American and European models. In addition, Robert applies his expertise in the development and implementation of client front, middle and back office policies and procedures during and after the on-boarding or administrator conversion process.

Robert’s current role as Managing Director allows him to draw from all of these experiences to lead Kaufman Rossin Alternative Investment Services, the premier independent fund administrator in its class.

Robert earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida Atlantic University.
